Blog EntryQ Fit Test: An Aero Marathon at A VenueSep 10, '08 4:25 PM
for everyone
I went to A Venue in Makati for the the Q Fit Test last Saturday, Sept 6 with my gym mates and friends from Gold's Gym Galleria.  Upon arriving at A Venue Hall, we didn't expect that a lot would be attending.  Slimmers, Fitness First and Golds sponsored the event together with QTV.

One question we had in mind was where we'll place our things.  Good thing that a baggage counter was provided at the far left entrance of the hall.  I was thankful also that one of our gym mates brought her yaya who took care of our personal belongings.

Upon registration, they gave us a baller ball with the Q logo and a bottled water container with Q logo which I could use in the gym.  We weren't able to explore the area as we were doing warm up stretching in preparation for the marathon.  It's bad to workout when you don't stretch. I was surprised to see a lady in her late 40's but is still sexy with her low waist sweat pants and midriff tank top.  others were wearing fishnets, duh!  And there were some who wore sequins with their gym attire.  Costume contest!

Drew Arellano was one of the host, the competition was judged by fitness experts from 3 different fitness centers, plus Wilma Doesnt, Paolo Abrera and Miriam Quiambao.  The participants were divided in 3 categories, that is, according to age bracket.  Take note, this is a three hour marathon so one should be prepared before attending.

For a start, we did belly dancing warm up - argh!  i looked so awkward in this.  Then we did hip hop, which is good for it elevated our heart rate.  Then Dan Cabiling, started the marathon proper with Hi Lo.  Followed by John Cuay and Ferdie with Kickbox, then Len, Earl with Hi Bo and Jon with Hi Lo again.  Kick box and Hi Lo are my ultra fave.

Once the marathon started, you cannot go to the rest room anymore except on breaks which was only for a minute, enough to hydrate yourself from the free distilled water booth.  During the marathon,   2 gays boxed my arm for so many times because they can't cope up with the steps.  The first gay, instead of going to the right, would go to the left boxing me and nearly slapping me. The other gay, because he is so hyper,  he was not mindful of the participants beside him, whether he's already kicking my butt or boxing out the person beside him.  Hay! That's normal naman on marathons, specially if a lot attended.  Competition or not, you should apologize after, the first one did.  The hell with the second one.  he! he!

Overall, it was a very very tiring experience but it was fun.  I almost can't walk myself to the shower room when we went back to Galleria.  I was sooo hungry and very tired already.  All I ever want to do is sleep.  Thanks to Anna and Tess for the carpool.  And Congratulations to Happy for winning Ms. Fitrum and 2nd Runner Up on our category.

Blog EntryA Hard To Forget NameSep 9, '08 1:27 AM
for everyone
There was this time in the gym when I am in the sauna when somebody talked to me.  A new comer at Gold's Gym asking for an advise on what class to attend.  Being accommodating as I am, I gave her tips as to what would be best for her depending on her interest.

As we go along with our conversation, she asked my name.  And I said Velvet.  She replied with "Oh how cute naman your name.  It's not easy to forget, madaling tandaan (easy to remember)." I asked for her name too, I might forget for I'm not really that good with remembering names.

3 days after, on my way to the gym, I saw her at Gloria Jeans with all the smile in her face shouting my name as I approach the area...
"Violetttttt!!!!!!!!!" Duh!  Talk about not forgetting my name :-( ha! ha! ha!

I didn't get mad naman.  That's becoming a common mistake lately.  I still smiled and acknowledged her.  There's one gym mate who's used to calling me "Yellow" - it's because I was wearing yellow when she asked for my name.  There's one who called me Lavender. Funny noh!  Naging colorful na ang name ko.  But I don't really mind, as long as they remember me.

Uy, made that logo myself!

Blog EntryMegaclinic - MegamallAug 28, '08 7:24 PM
for everyone
I am one of those who hates going to the hospital, not even for a regular checkup.  I saw Megaclinic when I went to Megamall last June.  The same week, I walked in and found myself inside the OBGyne's office having my papsmear with Dra. Rama.

Upon entering, the receptionist asked me if I'm a first time visitor.  Then she asked me to fill up a sheet indicating my details and the purpose of my visit.  I was then asked to go inside to give my sheet to the Nurse Station.  After 5 minutes, the secretary of Dra. Rama approached me and told me that Dra. Rama would be available in 10 minutes time.  True enough, I was called after 10 minutes.

After a short conversation with the OB, I was then asked to remove my clothes and put on the hospital robe.  I was escorted to lie down in bed, with my feet inserted on the whatever thingy that's at the end of the bed to make your legs spread apart.  Stretching your legs apart where the OB could see your whole world is not funny.  But this is what girls had to do whenever they visit their OB.  I was  told to have a transvaginal ultrasound and breast ultrasound the same day.  I did TVU but had to go back the next day for the breast ultrasound for I had to go back to Ortigas for a meeting.

The result and the report was given the same day I had my ultrasound.  Nine myomas in my uterus and one lump on each breast.  How about that?!?  I had to wait for one week for the result of my papsmear.  The whole week I was paranoid - my mom and all her sisters were operated because of myoma.  I was absent minded, sometimes I cry, one thing my hubby can't understand - nagagalit pa, kainis!  But he was there (insisted to accompany me)  when I had my check up.

The day came and Dra. Rama told me that it's normal.   The myoma's and the lumps are sooo tiny, like the size of a regular mole.  I don't have to worry about anything.  I just need to visit her after 6 months.  A friend of mine told me that it washes away when you give birth. Overall, I am satisfied with the service of Megaclinic, clean, fast, organized.  Megaclinic is located on the 5th level of Megamall Building A.  They are open from Monday to Sunday, 8:00 am to 9:00 pm.  You can use the elevator for Megaclinic's clients beside Cinderella which is near Italliani's.

Blog EntryBlackbeard's Seafood IslandAug 28, '08 6:05 PM
for everyone
Inspired by the famous pirate, Blackbeard, the most notorious pirate in the history of seafaring, docked in Asia with his treasures, spices and cooking techniques he learned from travellling, got tired of being a pirate and decided to settle in the Philippines, enjoyed cooking so much and became a chef.  His food became so famous that he decided to put it in one roof, the Blackbeard Seafood Island. (redcrabonline.com/blackbeard)

I was not able to take photo of the Boodle feast we ordered when I ate there with my college friends last June.  One, I was busy talking to bring out my digicam.  Two, the banana leaf where the boodle meal was too messy to photograph after we ate.  Three, I didn't enjoy the food, in my own honest opinion.

Searched for blogs related to this and some really enjoyed the Boodle Feast.  Some did not. Maybe we ordered the wrong set - Manila Bay which consists of squid balls, grilled squid, salmon belly, lumpiang shanghai, pork belly, grilled tilapia, and deep fried crab.  It's just that the rice is too many, the viand is kaunti for seven pax.  And for the set we ordered, a bit pricey at P968 drinks excluded plus vat.  Maybe I'll try it again some other time.

Blog EntryBack to Blogging...Aug 28, '08 5:25 PM
for everyone
Was gone for three months, been lurking around whenever I had the time.  I've never been this tired. Our Kodak shop is still alive, thanks to Gleoh who had been working his ass off to keep the business going despite the gas increase and the hard times every Filipino is experiencing.  I wonder when we can finally launch the Ortigas branch.

Planning, reorganization, repricing, training, implementation and marketing would normally take us 3 to four months.  Unfortunately, this took us 8 months when we added a new machine after renovation.

Wawa naman tuloy eyebags namin.  Barely had time to go to the gym, no night outs, no travel, tried every fast food i can find around, had scoliosis attack once in a while, hay!  But the fun part is, we learned a lot.

I need a lot sleep.....

Blog EntryGloomy at UPMay 1, '08 10:52 PM
for everyone
MJ's back!  He arrived last April 23 but it was my first time to visit him at our QC home.  I was surprised to see him outside the house with our neighbors, i'm not used seeing him playing outside our home.  Hay!  He's growing na...

Yesterday, May 1, I went to our home in QC to visit my family and at the same time, went to UP with my cousins, Ate Len, Kuya Louie, Geloy and Inna.  We're suppossed to do some shoots at UP.  It pushed thru naman but at a very limited time and area because it rained the time we reached UP.  We stayed in the car and had kulitan picturan while waiting for the rain to stop.  When it was tolerable to walk na, we walked but it drizzled again so we had to stay under the waiting shed of Sunken Garden.

It was fun and i'm sure there'll be another photo ops with my cousins who are now fellow nikonians.

Blog EntrySlammer Burgers Opens in GalleriaApr 29, '08 8:57 PM
for everyone
If you're sick of eating burgers at Mc Donalds, Jollibee, Wendy's or Burger King, try Slammer Burgers.  It's like eating a home cooked burger that your mom prepares for you.  The size maybe small but it satisfies your hungry tummy with their 100% imported pure beef.  Aarggh! goodbye diet again!  As if!  Hello gym na lang ulit.

A few months ago, hubby and I would go to Greenhills or even Trinoma just to eat at Slammers. We were surprised when we saw a newly opened branch at Robinson's Galleria last month.  Hay salamat, we don't need to run to Greenhills to grab a bite.  It's so tempting pa kase to go extra shopping whenever you see good finds at the bazaar.

So if you're hungry and you don't know what to eat, try this one.  Very affordable at P50 for two pieces or P90 for 4 pieces.  You may also try their Belgian Fries with different dips to choose from ala NYFD.  Also available, Cheeseburger, Jalapeno Cheeseburger, Bacon Mushroom Melt, and Buffalo Wings.

I can't make a comment on the other stuffs in their menu for I haven't tried it.  Slammers Burger pa lang talaga nata try ko.  Normally, hubby and I would buy the 4pc-slammer.  Super busog ka na nun with Coke Light to match it.  We were surprised to hear 2 ladies who ordered 12 pieces! No Kidding!  Grabe noh!

Blog EntryPeace Offering Dinner at Abe'sApr 20, '08 6:48 PM
for everyone
I am so pissed with hubby that started last Apr 17 when I called off our reservation for Boracay. I wasn't trying or attempting to make it even with him, basta hindi ko na lang sya kinakausap or pinapansin.  I didn't even leave the house for 2 days, no lunch or dinner with him, I watched American Idol alone, and I had 2 days of locking up at our room and had a full sleep like as if I was deprived of sleeping my whole life.

The first time we talked to each other was about the latest marketing banner that we made and a little about American Idol.  What I noticed lang is that even if we fight, we always give each other food pasalubong.  For 2 nights, he bought food for me and I did not even eat it.  I'm so bad!  An incident about our dog poochie getting lost the next day made way for us to talk to each other normally.  Di ko rin naman sya matitiis noh!  Sad manood ng American Idol without him coz we always guess as to who will be eliminated.

Unexpectedly and surprisingly,  he treated me out for a dinner at Abe's Restaurant in Serendra last Saturday.  I am taking back what I blogged comparing Abe in Trinoma as better than Abe in Serendra.  (http://velvetdsd.multiply.com/journal/item/188/Threes_Not_a_Crowd)

Both branches are great!  Sobrang sarap ng food, naka 3 cups of rice each kami ni Gleoh, ha! ha! ha!  Takaw noh!  We ordered Sinuteng Baby Squid (P168).  It's a small squid sauteed in olive oil and seasoning; Kare Kare Ala Bistro Burgos (P475) - kare kare lang po yun, nadagdagan lang ang name; and Tamarind Shake (P105) - their specialty, I'm not a fan of eating tamarind but I like this shake with the tingling taste of sweet sampaloc.

If you're planning on having dinner at Abe, here's a sample of their menu:
Sisig (P175), Gambas (P308), Binukadkad na PlaPla (P365), Knockout Knuckle (P555), Pork Binagoongan (P252), Calamares (P210), Morcon (P308), Crispy Tadyang (P476).  Bottomless rice is at P60 per head.

While strolling, we saw Lyle Sacris, my neighbor and a good friend of my brother.  He's the director of First Time starring Viva Hot Babes and Cinematographer of Exodus and Super Noypi.

Blog EntryI Visited Fitness First MegamallApr 20, '08 3:19 PM
for everyone
We went to Headway Megamall for hubby's haircut.  My praises to Richard - hubby's barber. He's Gleoh's only Barber for 6 years in a row.

Had bubble tea and brownies after the haircut then went malling to burn what we ate.

We noticed that FF's Megamall branch already opened. We were peeping through it's glass window when a membership agent approached us and asked if we wanted to go on a tour. Pretending like we haven't been to any of the FF's branch, we agreed for a tour.

- On the left side upon entering is their reception area
- On the right is the customer's lounge and the fuel / drinking bar where you get free diet sodas
- There's always Fruit Magic inside FF Clubs
- They have the different cardio equipments such as treadmill, stepper and glider - you can watch different movies on their LCD TV's that's in front of you - that's the reason why we're peeping through the glass windows
- They have the different types of machines and free weights equipments
- They have 3 workout studios - the cosmic cycling area, mind and body, group exercise.  The temperature can be controlled inside the mind and body area, good for ala bikram yoga classes.
- And most importantly - the locker room where I get to take a photo of myself for my blog :-)

I get to see their locker, restroom and shower room alone with very few members inside.  I was impressed because it's clean - since it's new, unfortunately, there's no steam room or sauna.  And they now have the electronic version lockers, no more keys needed.  FF clubs are notorious on the issue of "nakawans" in the locker. Maybe this is their way of fixing that issue.

Now comes the rates: One time payment of Joining fee is at P5,000.  One time payment of Administration fee is at P1,900.  Monthly dues is at P2,650.
Syempre may discount:  One time payment of Joining fee is at P500 (less P4,500 huh!). One time payment of Administration fee at P1,900 (still the same).  Monthly dues at P2,400.

The Megamall branch is really nice, though I haven't seen the MoA and Trinoma branch so I can't compare.  The Fort branch was the latest branch I visited when I was still a member last 2005 and I could say there's really a big improvement if I am to compare the 2 branches.

But we are not that convinced to join back FF again.  We are counting on the convenience and the monthly dues.  That's why we renewed our membership at Gold's which will expire on the 24th of this month.  Gold's Gym Galleria is just in front of our office building where we have free parking.  And the monthly dues of one person at FF is good for two at GG.  Natawa lang kami sa sinabi nung taga FF when hubby told him he's a member of Gold's Gym.  Di ba sir, hardcore sa Gold's?  Baka he's referring to Carlos Agassi na super ganda talaga ng body.

I still treasure the friendship I had with my former FF gym members, and I've gained new friends at GG also.  I just love going to the gym, pag wala neto - ewan ko kung anong mangyari sa min ni hubby :-)

Are you interested to become a GG member?  Call Joco Cortez at 634-0908 or 0920-9219121 to inquire.  Below are the rates:

Individual Membership:
A:  P14,500 - 96 visits (1 year limited membership for Alabang)
B:  P15,500 - 120 visits (1 year limited membership)
C:  P16,500 - 144 visits (1 year limited membership)

Buy 1 Take 1 Promo (valid til April 30, 2008)
A:  P31,500 (good for 2 pax)
Primary  member - 144 visits / year limited membership
Secondary member - 144 visits / year limited membership

B:  P38,000 (good for 2 pax)
Primary  member - 1 year unlimited membership
Secondary member - 1 year unlimited membership

Blog EntryGuess What's in the Box?Apr 14, '08 3:57 PM
for everyone
Hubby and I was super excited last Saturday.   Finally, we were able to buy what we had been wanting to buy since last December.  But we gave it to his parents as a gift.  Now that we have it installed in the living room, would be wanting to have one in our room in the near future.

What made that day more exciting was when I saw someone walking behind us at the parking lot of Edsa Shangri-la Mall.

OMG!!!  Si Piolo Pacual!  Grabe - super gwapo pala nya in person.  As in super yummy!  I was poking my husband with my elbow, labs, picturan mo kami, sige na picturan mo kami.  I was already holding my digicam but when he's in front of us na - tinamaan ako ng hiya.  Shucks!!! Bigla akong natyope - kainis!

Eh kase naman mega japorms ako nun, naka make up pa, pano ko ba naman matatakbuhan si piolo and tell hime "pa picture?"

So tinanaw ko na lang sya hanggang mag fade na sya sa paningin ko. hay!!!

So back to the store where we're suppossed to go - naligaw kami ng dadaanan - pareho siguro kaming nabighani ni hubby kay Piolo. Hubby was asking me something, I answered him back ng " tigilan mo muna ko, hindi kita masasagot at hibang pa ko kay papa piolo" ha! ha! ha!  i'm so jologs when it comes to artistas.

In fairness, ang sport ni hubby.  Kapag kinikilig ako sa mga celebrities, natatawa lang sya sa 'kin.

Blog EntryThree's Not a CrowdApr 14, '08 3:00 PM
for everyone
When I was in High School, there are 2 persons who I always get to be with in our group, Jean and Ghe.  We had been sharing our innermost secrets when we were young 'til the time we were discovering the ups and downs of adult life.  But you know, it's different when you get to meet your high school friends coz you always get to remember all the naughty things you've done when you were young.  Last April 4, we had dinner at Abe's Restaurant in Trinoma joined by my hubby and Ghe's hubby.  Jean's hubby was on a trip in Spain that time.  Jean could have joined him but she chose to go home in the the Philippines instead, she now resides in Texas USA with her hubby with her brand new Escalade - Wow!!!  We're still kulit and talkative and you could really talk anything and everything without the fear of being misjudged.  Too bad Reg can't join us that night.  We had dessert at Coffee bean after.

Abe in Trinoma is better that Abe in Serendra.  Food is yummy on both branches but it's tastier when I get to try it in Trinoma.  Maybe I was soo hungry na when we ate at Serendra, we waited for almost 2 hours to get a seat, probably lost my appetite already.  They have little choices in their menu but each one is worth a try.  We ordered Adobong Pusit, Kare Kare, Morcon and Crispy Pata.  Each meal would cost around 250 to 450, giving us a total of P2000 plus.  Hubby and I would definitely be back at Abe's - where good friends dine!

Went to Jill's at The Fort to meet my cousins after our dinner.  A good excuse to burn the food we ate at Abe's.  But the dancing made hubby hungry which made us buy BBQ at Yoohoo Metrowalk before going home.

Met 2 of my college friends, Mei and Joan for a dinner at Friday's Brickroad.  Mei would soon be leaving for New Zealand.  Joan is a flight attendant and might not be able to see Mei before Mei leaves for NZ.  We had dinner so both of them could see each other.  The others can't join us so they better make up for it next time.  I had to leave early also to entertain a visitor in our shop.

I used to be a fan of Fridays in Glorietta but that was 13 years ago when I still work at IBM.  I love their fish and chips.  I haven't been a fan of Fridays lately because everything that is on their menu is sooo pricey, food is sooo heavy and I don't like the taste of their food at all.  I was sick at the time I met my college friends so something must have contributed to the awful taste.  But I didn't regret eating there as long as the chikahan is alive.

Blog EntrySnake Inside the HouseApr 8, '08 1:23 PM
for everyone
This is Poochie, our cocker spaniel pet dog.  He would always be sleeping by the door waiting for us to come home.  Last night, MIL (mother in law)  was bothered that Poochie did not greet her when she arrived.  The dog was was very busy looking at something underneath the receiving sofa.

MIL thought that maybe Poochie was trying to get his ball or was playing with the roaches.  Yup, he plays with a cockroach whenever there's one.  He would cover the roach with his paw, release it til the roach could crawl for a few steps, poochie will cover it again with his paw and so on and so forth.  Until the roach dies of exhaustion. :-)

To go on with the story, MIL looked underneath the sofa to see what seems to be bothering our dog.  She was surprised to see a baby snake wiggling underneath the sofa.  Ahas! Ahas!  FIL (father in law) came to the rescue and killed the snake.  It's the same size of the snake that my husband saw in the garage last new year's eve.

Click here for the pic and blog

According to my husband, they always get lucky whenever they see a snake.

We were worried because Poochie doesn't seem to know what a snake is.  She maybe thinking of it as another playmate.  Wawa naman... Super sweet pa mandin ng dog na yan. She makes tampo if you don't have pasalubong.  She plays soccer if she wants to get your attention.  If you shout "chocolate"  she will rush to your side and wait for you to give her own share.  She hates dog food, she likes chicken and vegetables.  You have to replace her water after she drinks from her cup or she won't drink it at all.  She eats ice cream from a cone. She'll walk away if you tell her she smells awful.  magtampo daw ba!  cute noh?!?  Our house is surrounded by indian trees and I am suspecting that it must be where the snake is hiding.

Blog EntryBubble Tea and Bread TalkApr 7, '08 1:03 PM
for everyone
Every Saturday, after our workout, you could only find us in one place - Bubble Tea in Megamall.  Gleoh's addicted to Bubble Tea's Almond Milk Tea with Egg Pudding while I go for Chocolate Milk Tea.

Bubble Tea is a refreshing drink that can also be a dessert drink at the same time.  Each flavor comes in different colors with black balls of chewy tapioca pearls that you could see at the bottom of your glass which you can slurp using a big straw.  Sounds like Zagu or Quickly, right?  The big difference is that it does not taste like medicine or preservative.   Each Milk tea costs around P75 to P85, add P15 for the egg pudding.  I am not sure if they have other branches aside from SM Megamall.

Beside Bubble Tea is Breadtalk, which started in Singapore, an upper class type of bakery that we have around.   Their bread is indeed yummy with an interesting name for each type of bread.  My favorite is Cheese Floss at P55.  There are 3 types of Floss in Bread Talk:  Floss, Cheese Floss and Fire Floss.  I like the cheese flavor.

I was turned off the first time I bought Floss because of its smell.  Wait til you taste it and you won't mind the smell at all.  My husband has a funny way of describing how the floss smells.

Sometimes I would go for their Ube Bundle (P39), it smells good like a real halaya; Only U (P39), with taro filling inside; or Cheese Boat (P29), a small bread with cheese toppings.  Breadtalk Gateway is my favorite branch.

I grew up having bread as a snack and I doubt if I am to give up eating breads 'til I grow old.   On days I find breadtalk costly, I settle for hopia or pande coco, even pandesal with butter and sugar :-)  sarap pa rin noh!

Blog EntryFirst Runner Up Danielle CastanoApr 3, '08 3:00 AM
for everyone
Can't help but be proud of Danielle, she's my gym mate at Gold's Gym Galleria.  I wasn't aware that she's one of the finalists at the recent Bb. Pilipinas Pageant.  I just found out when I saw her photo posted at Gateway Mall.  In person, she's really a head turner because she's sexy, pretty and oozing with sex appeal.  Crush nga yan ng husband ko eh!  She may looked suplada, but she's actually nice and friendly when you get to know her.  Though she didn't get the top 3 titles, she went home with 6 special awards aside from being the first runner up.

Anyway, after the pageant, I've been seeing the top 5 at Gold's Gym Galleria personally trained by John Cuay.  In between, they also attend the cardio classes of Gold's.  There are others who had been leaving remarks like, is that Janina?  the like this and that...  You know, remarks that Janina had been painfully swallowing for the past few weeks.  Then one gym mate of mine answered:  Alam nyo, kahit ano pang sabihin nyo, titulado na sya.  Eh kayo, may korona ba kayo?  Korona ng patay pwede pa.  Bb Pilipinas ba kayo, reyna ng talipapa pwede pa.  Natahimik tuloy yung mga nasabihan.

I myself was guilty because I laughed upon watching the interview portion, but who didn't? The issue had died down, I actually pity Janina whenever I see her being stared at and the people staring at her would mock her.  Hay!

Blog EntryMy Mom's Bday on an Easter SundayApr 2, '08 3:20 PM
for everyone
We celebrated my mom's 63rd birthday at our home in QC last Easter Sunday, the exact day of her birthday.  As usual, she prepared delicious food like she always does on special days.

There's chili crab, nilagang baka, chicken strips with olives and tomatoes, blue marlin, baked lasagna, buko pandan, chocolate ice cream and mango bravo. When we're done eating, all i can say is i need to go to the gym the next day.

No one can resist eating whenever she cooks.  If only she's younger, she could make it big in a resto business - same goes with my sister.

My brother brought his daughter Alexa with him.  She's still grumpy, she only knows the face of her yaya and would only go with her yaya. Luck turned for my mom, Alexa approached her while eating and didn't cry when my mom carried her.  She looked cute while she was eating ice cream and was soo grumpy when she found out that there's no ice cream left on her feeding bowl.

Present in the party:  me and gleoh, my brother and his daughter alexa with the nanny, my sister and her boyfriend, my cousins and doyle - our american visitor.  Sorry mom, forgot to buy your birthday candle. :-)

Blog EntryWalking Barefoot in GatewayApr 2, '08 3:04 PM
for everyone
I rummaged through my shoe cabinet and found an old shoe (but still looked new) that I bought last November 2005 http://velvetdsd.multiply.com/journal/item/48/Work_Shop_Dine_Movie_and_Dessert_in_a_day

I decided to wear it since it goes with the top that I'm wearing.  I was walking around Gateway Mall on my way to the shop when... snap!  The strap of my shoe snapped!  OMG, it was so embarrassing.  I tried walking with one shoe but I looked awkward with my right side on heels and left side flat on the floor.  So I decided to carry both of my shoes and walked barefoot inside Gateway Mall where a lot stared at me seeing me with no shoes on.

I have no intention of buying a new shoe so I decided to go straight to Celine since it's on sale.  I ended up buying a pair of shoe and a shoulder bag that matches it.  Thanks to credit card that I could use for "emergency" :-)

Blog EntryLegend Hongkong Seafood RestaurantMar 16, '08 5:32 PM
for everyone
My first time at this most talked about Chinese Restaurant located at Boom na Boom Complex beside Wensha Spa.  I am not surprised at all why this restaurant is famous.  Food was really great and tasty.  Lucky to taste the specialties of Legend for free when we attended the first birthday party of Charles Aldrich, first born son of our friend Arnold and Cathy.  Gleoh and I would definitely come back whenever we have time to go to that area.  I sooo love the hot shrimp salad, I actually made it my main course.

After the party, we went to Serendra for a stroll and bought Mango Bravo at Conti's.  We then proceeded to Megatrade Hall in Megamall to talk to one of our suppliers and a quick drink at Bubble Tea.

Blog EntryA Bloating ExperienceMar 16, '08 5:00 PM
for everyone
Had dinner at JT's Manukan in Gilmore last March 1.  The last time we went here I think was year 2005 pa after we went swimming at Splash Island.  I can't recall how much it cost that time but at present, thigh order or paa as stated in the menu is P85, rice not included.

I find their fried rice so tasty topped with garlic and yellow chicken oil.  From a distance, I saw Joel Torre with his buddies.  My sister was star strucked when he saw JT and refer to him as Joel Torres, ha! ha! ha!  JT's kasi eh!

We went to Nestle Ice Cream house after for dessert. We ordered 1 slice of ice cream cake, big enough for a couple.  Even if we shared the slice, the effect of dairy is sooo heavy.  Felt so bloated after.  Can't resist the temptation nga lang and it's your loss if you don't get to taste one.

Since we're the last group to leave the ice cream house, we had the chance to goof around and play like kids do at the play area.  The balls are made of rubber and it does'nt hurt when you step on it.  And when you lie on it, it's sooo relaxing.  We were distracted playing when we heard a siren from a fire truck outside.

Blog EntryI'm Back Posting My BlogsMar 16, '08 11:06 AM
for everyone

I've had problems posting my blog entry for two weeks and at the same time had problems with our DSL connection.  Whew!  What more could go wrong without an internet and a blog to post?

Thanks to the user support of multiply (http://usersupport.multiply.com) who gave me the answer.  When multiply had an update, I am one of those who got affected.  The only answer to that is to update my software to Safari 3.0x and Tiger 10.4.11.

Our router was somehow hacked leaving us with a slow (or sometimes) no connection at all.  Let hubby solved the technicalities of the router settings and we're back on track!

Blog Entry3 Years! - So Fast NamanMar 6, '08 2:23 PM
for everyone

It’s our 3rd year wedding anniversary.. yesterday!

Hubby was telling me something yesterday while I was at the back of their house. As I was replying to his story, he snapped me by saying “ sabi ko happy anniv!” shucks! I didn’t get to hear the first time he said it.

Sorry for the exaggeration but I have a hubby whose suplado most of the time and moments like this means a lot to me. He’s not mad naman, in fact, he’s in a good mood recently. We had been watching funny movies and cartoons every night and it must have helped in overcoming the stress from work and from working out. We were inspired also by the Keep Moving Forward motto of Meet The Robinson’s cartoons.

By the way, sorry for the some of the unanswered PM’s and emails. We were having trouble with our dsl connection at home. I’ll catch up as soon as our dsl is okay.
